Progress on Viral Receptor and its Research Methods

Viral infection exists the host specificity and tissue tropism that is determined by the viral receptor.Cellular receptor is the crucial factor to mediate the entry of virus.Studies on the viral receptor have significance for understanding the interaction of virus with its cellular receptor.Recently years,several new techniques including phage surface display technique,yeast two-hybrid system,cDNA library have been applied to the research field of viral receptor besides the traditional methods such as virus overlay protein blot assay,monoclonal antibody technique,co-immunoprecipitation,affinity chromatography.In this article,the progress on viral receptor and its research methods were reviewed.
