KEMAMPUAN MENGIDENTIFIKASI UNSUR-UNSUR PEMBANGUN PUISI YANG DIBACA PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SEMESTER GANJIL SMP NEGERI 1 WAY TUBA TAHUN PELAJARAN 2018/2019

The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the ability of the eighth semester students of SMP Negeri 1 Waytuba in the 2018/2019 academic year in identifying the building blocks of poetry that are read. Aspects assessed reached the theme of poetry, feelings of poetry, tone / atmosphere of poetry, and the message of poetry. The research method uses quantitative. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of the odd semester of SMP Negeri 1 Waytuba in the 2018/2019 Academic Year, amounting to 40 and the study sample according to the number of samples available. The technique of collecting data uses performance tests. Data analysis techniques are carried out with the following steps the results showed the ability to identify the constructing elements of poetry texts that were read in the eighth grade students of the odd semester of SMP Negeri 1 Waytuba in 2018/2019 Academic Year can be said to be sufficient because the average score reached 64. In each aspect, it showed that students' abilities identified elements of theme 57 achieved sufficient ability, aspects of feeling reached an average score of 63 in sufficient categories, and on tone / atmosphere aspects achieved an average score of 55 in the Less category, and on the mandate aspect achieved an average score of 66 in sufficient categories.
