The invention discloses an element-doped oxide-sulfur composite material of a positive electrode of a lithium-sulfur battery and a preparation method thereof. The element-doped oxide-sulfur composite material is prepared by the following steps: preparing element-doped oxide and monomer sulfur according to a mounting mass ratio; ball-milling and mixing the materials; calcining in an inert atmosphere of 120-450 DEG C; and keeping the heat for 1-48 hours. Compared with a conventional porous carbon/sulfur composite material, the composite positive electrode material of the lithium-sulfur battery prepared according to a formula and the preparation method shows better corrosion resistance and lower electrochemical active superficial area loss, the utilization rate of the active substance sulfur is effectively improved, the specific capacity of the battery is improved and the cycle life is prolonged. The preparation method is easy to operate and low in cost, is suitable for large-scale production and can be used for producing the composite material of the positive electrode of the lithium-sulfur battery anode has a series of advantages of high energy density, environmental friendliness, low price and the like.
