Étude à l'aide d'álectrodes tournantes du comportement du titane au voisinage du potentiel de corrosion en solutions sulfuriques aérées

1977
A rotating disc electrode has been used to study the influence of mass transfer phenomena on the reactions taking place at the interface close to the corrosion potential. This study has revealed a partial blocking of the reaction area with respect to the reduction of oxygen dissolved in the electrolyte and an interaction between this reaction and that relative to the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). We have interpreted this blocking by the presence at the interface of an adsorbed hydrogenated species having a long lifetime which is formed during the HER mechanism. This interpretation also accounts for the morphology of the corroded surface which presents an alveolar aspect.
