Role of Nanostructured Hardfacing Alloy on Steel for Enhanced Wear Behavior

The purpose of this work was to analyze the mechanical and wear properties of nanostructured hardfacing on mild steel. Chromium was thermally deposited on mild steel and its hardness and surface roughness was measured. Also, pin on disk wear test was performed according to design of experiment, and results were analyzed. The wear resistance of the hardfaced component was increased by 50% as compared to non-hardfaced component.
