System and method for realizing electric power steering

The invention discloses a system for realizing electric power steering, which is used for providing steering assistance for hybrid vehicles in different modes and comprises an electric power system, an engine power steering system, a connecting unit and an integral vehicle control unit. The electric power steering system is used for executing electric power steering operation, the engine power steering system is used for executing engine power steering operation, the connecting unit is used for connecting the engine power steering system or the electric power steering system with a vehicle steering system, and the integral control unit is used for acquiring vehicle state parameters and determining vehicle states according to the vehicle state parameters. If the vehicles run in the electric mode, the integral vehicle control unit controls the electric power steering system to execute electric power steering operation and controls the engine power steering system to stop working after delaying a set time; if the vehicle runs in the engine mode, the integral vehicle control unit controls the electric power steering system to stop working after the engine power steering system is detected to start executing engine power steering operation. The invention further discloses a method for realizing electric power steering.
