Clinical observation of esotropia caused by Botulinum toxin A injection for forehead wrinkles

Objective To observe clinical characteristics of esotropia caused by the forehead subcutaneous injection of botulinum toxin A.Methods The research subjects were 32 patients with strabismus which was caused by subcutaneous injection of botulinum toxin A because of cosmetic forehead in strabismus center of our hospital from January to June 2011.To observe the appearance of diplopia in patients with time,disappearance time,strabismus angle.Results After injection the appearance time of diplopia was 6±2 days in distance,and in near was 7±2 days.The disappearance time of diplopia was 80±22 days when the patients saw distant,when they saw near was 120±20 days.When diplopia appeared the oblique angle was 33cm:+14±2△,5m:+18±3△.Conclusions When removing wrinkles with Botulinum toxin A diplopia appears,it will affect the long life of patients.
