Study the Effect of Dielectric Constant on Notch-Loaded U-Shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna
2020
In this paper, the effect of material dielectric constant on notch loaded U-shaped microstrip patch antenna has been studied. The dielectric material is glass epoxy, RT/Duroid 5880, and textile (Jeans) having dielectric constant 4.4, 2.2, and 1.7, respectively. The design frequency of the studied antenna is 2.45 GHz and the IE3D simulation tool has been used for simulation. The bandwidth of the antenna is 12.3% (2.43 GHz–2.75 GHz), 20% (2.21 GHz–2.70 GHz), and 37.68% (2.07 GHz–3.03 GHz) using glass epoxy, RT/Duroid 5880, and textile material, respectively. The gain of the antenna is 4.102 dBi, 4.871 dBi, and 4.904 dBi using glass epoxy, RT/Duroid 5880 and textile material, respectively. Directivity of the antenna is 4.353 dBi, 4.919 dBi, and 5.059 dBi using glass epoxy, RT/Duroid 5880 and textile material, respectively. The antenna is fed by 50 Ω Microstrip line feed.
