Evaluation of polyelectrolytes for removal of turbidity

This paper describes laboratory scale studies on coagulation and settling of turbid water by using five polyelectrolytes, viz. PAC, Sufloc, magnafloc LT31, Zetag and Setlyte N10, used in conjuction with four coagulants alum, ferric sulphate, ferric chloride and aluminium chloride. The relative performances of these polyelectrolytes were compared with each of the coagulant.
