Gate control system and control method for elevator

Provided with a gate control system for an elevator, capable of increasing shipping persons in an unit time even through the elevator being in fastigium, and automatically and suitably regulating the opening time of the elevator gate based on the safety of the passengers. The opening time of the elevator gate is determined by the time for embarking/debarking the elevator at each floor where the elevator parks, thus it is capable of regulating the opening time of the elevator gate by predicting the embarking/debarking time and according to the predicted time. In particularly, the invention relates to a gate control system for an elevator, having an elevator gate switching control device for automatically closing the elevator car gate after a prescribed opening time of the car, and means for predicting the embarking/debarking time based on a number of persons being off the elevator and a number of persons being on the elevator on each service parking floor of the car, so as to regulate the length of the prescribed time of the elevator gate switching control device based on the calculated prescribed embarking/debarking time.
