Features of the microstructure of Donets anthracite of different genetic types

It is the reduced character of the coals of the Middle Carboniferous of the Donets Coalfield which distinguishes them genetically and which is responsible for their technological properties. In the case of the anthracites, the type of the original plant material is also of considerable importance. Anthracites used for technological purposes are those whose initial substance is dominated by Gymnospermae; these are particularly suitable for the production of electrode thermal anthracites.
