DISEÑOS DE ABRAHAM VAN DIEPENBEECK PARA LES PEINTURES SACREES DU TEMPLE DU CARMEL DESIGNS FOR ABRAHAM VAN DIEPENBEECK'S LES PEINTURES SA- CREES DU TEMPLE DU CARMEL

2013
Our object of study is a unique Carmelite volume of Lives of the Saints, completed by the most important 17 th Century Flemish engravers from designs by Diepenbeeck, who carried out important commissions for the Carmelites in stained glass and series of prints. This one is a fine example of this work, and it served as a source of inspiration for several artists, including the author of the Double coronation of St. Mary Magdalene of Pazzi, which is kept in the Carmelite convent of Medina del Campo (Valladolid).
