Recent Advances in direct trifluoromethylselenolation of C–H bonds

2021
Abstract Owing to its very interesting electronic and physicochemical properties, considerable effort in recent years has been devoted to the development of efficient methods for installing the trifluoromethylselenol (SeCF3) group in organic molecules. In this context, the direct trifluoromethylselenolation of C–H bonds has emerged as an ideal approach for the synthesis of trifluoromethylselenolated compounds that avoids prefunctionalization of starting materials and therefore shortens reaction routes and minimizes side reactions. In this review, we summarize recent trends in this novel and interesting research field by hoping that it will promote future research in this area.
