Comparison of electrocardiogram, echocardiography and coronary angiography in detecting coronary artery disease

2003
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of electrocardiography(ECG) and echocardiography(UCG) in coronary artery disease(CAD). Methods Two hundred and sixteen patients were examined by coronary angrography.Left ventricular ejection fraction(EF),farctional shortening of minor axis, peak flow velocity during early drastole(E),peak flow velocity during atrial contraction(A),ratio between E and A (E/A) were measured with UCG. Results The sensitivity in the diognosis of CAD with ECG and UCG was 90.3% and 98.6% respectively. The specificity was 20.8% and 11.1% respectively. Conclusion ECG and UCG had higher sensitivity, reached higher diagnostic accuracy and lower cost without injury. It was a basic method for diagnosis of CAD.
