Sleep Disturbances in Bangkok Preschoolers (การนอนหลับไม่ปรกติของเด็กวัยก่อนเรียนในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร)

A  descriptive research on sleep disturbances of preschoolers was carried out in children aged over 2 to 6 years,tolaling 260 preschool children from the well-child clinics of Ramathibodi Hospital and the Children Hospital, and four health centrrs in Bangkok from June to August 1997. Data was collected by interviewing parents or children's caretakers.Night terrors/nightmares represented the hight causes of sleep disturbances (22.7%). Other sleep disturbances were rare in this study.Factors significantly associated with the night tertors/nightmares were neurological and emotional problems and developmental characteristics of the child-ren.
