A method for producing a material connection with the support of IR radiation

2010
The invention relates to a method for producing a bonded connection between a metal component (12) and a glass component (11). A resultant joint between these components (13) is heated with IR radiation, in particular a laser beam (14) so that the cohesive connection is formed. According to the invention, the metallic component induction with an induction coil (15a) to heat (alternatively, 15b), so that sets a uniform temperature profile in the formation of the connection, taking into account of the better thermal conductivity behavior of the metallic component. Composite components made of glass and metal, which can be prepared by this method are, for example, central tubes for parabolic trough power plants, or the case of vacuum switches.
