A New Facile One-Pot Synthesis of Cyclopropyl Vinyl Sulfides

Abstract The (Z) and (E) diastereoisomers of cyclopropylvinyl sulfides are efficiently prepared by treatment of (phenylthiomethyl)trimethylsilane with γ-chlorobutyrophenones in the presence of LDA at −78°C. C3 ring closure and olefination by Peterson reaction occur in the same step.
