Article is devoted to prospects of development of the modern system of secondary vocational education in General and changes in economic training on technical skills, based on identified trends, in particular. Carries out a historical review of development of secondary professional education in the last hundred years. Analysis: demand for graduates of secondary special educational institutions on the regional labour market; level of participation of employers in training of specialists in Tatarstan. Includes the areas of work on search of effective organizational and administrative forms, aimed at qualitative improvement of system of preparation of qualified workers and specialists. The analysis of scientific works on modernization of secondary vocational education on the basis of which conclusions are drawn about the prospects and problems of development of the system for the coming years, and also determined the main directions for solving the existing problems. Taking into account the identified trends in the history of professional education were identified milestones in the economic training of technical specialists at different stages of the reform of professional education. Has revealed a change in the direction of economic training of the students of technical specialties in the direction of organizational and managerial disciplines.
