Thispaperpresents PVR systembasedon TV- Anytimemetadata. Basedon thefeatures ofTV-Anytime specification, theproposed systemallows userstobeableto easily record TV programsandtoconveniently consumethem basedonsegment defined inTV-Anytime specification. I.INTRODUCTION Digitalization ofbroadcasting service offers consumers an opportunity towatch highquality AV contents, andtointeract withdatarelated tobroadcasting service. Furthermore, PVR (Personal VideoRecorder), oneoftheattractive services of digital broadcasting, hasbeendeveloping, sothat users can easily store thebroadcasting contents andwatch themagain in almost thesamequality withoriginal contents whenever they want.Several products support tobuffer livebroadcasting stream inrealtime, userscanwatchtheparttheymissed immediately byrewinding. ThePVRisapowerful function to reuse contents; however there isaroomtobeenhanced for morepersonalized consumption. Inthispaper, we propose enhanced PVR usingTV- Anytime metadata. Theproposed system consists ofhardware, OCAP (OpenCableApplication Platform) as data broadcasting middleware, GEM-PVR module, Advanced- PVRmodule, TV-Anytime engine, andUserinterface. Inthis paper, theadvanced PVR service andthedesign forthat service will befocused.
