Partial oxidation of methane in aqueous electrochemical systems
1992
The authors have investigated the partial oxidation of methane in systems containing an aqueous electrolyte, dissolved CH 4 and O 2 and an electrode. Electrode materials have been Au, Cu, Mo, and carbon for applied current experiments, and insulting or semiconducting oxides for open circuit experiments. The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyse low temperature partial oxidation products, and suggest possible mechanisms
