Study on the Construction and Operation Mechanisms of the Urban Intelligent Transportation System in China

In recent years, with the accelerated pace of urbanization, and the increasing traffic demand, urban traffic issues are becoming grave. Traffic management gradually tends towards intelligence. An Intelligent Transportation System, as an effective way to solve traffic problems, has become the future development trend of road traffic and a symbol of advancement of the modern city. Through analyzing the organizations, institutions, construction, and operation mode for urban ITS development, this article aims to explore the suitable mechanisms for the construction and operation of an urban Intelligent Transportation System. Moreover, this article introduces related factors, such as the policy, talent, technology, and funds and so on, for giving protection to the smooth conduct of the Intelligent Transportation System.
