Prevention and dental practitioners in Northern Ireland

1983
Abstract General dental practitioners in Northern Ireland were asked to choose from a list of widely accepted preventive procedures which they might advocate for the prevention of caries and gingival disease. Older dentists were less inclined to advise fluoridation or the use of fluorides than their younger colleagues. Regular dental attenders reflect many of the practitioners' views except the restriction of dietary sugar and were less enthusiastic regarding fluoridation.
