Characterization of an oscillating flow through a porous media: phase shift and compressibility effects

2016
This paper presents an experimental work to characterize the dynamic operation of a metal regenerator crossed by dry air alternating compressible flow. Unsteady dynamic measurements concern the pressure, velocity and temperature of the gas at the ends and inside the channels of the regenerator. The regenerators are tested under isothermal condition and thermal axial temperature gradient. Results lead firslty to the determination of the phase between thermofluidic parameters and secondly to the determination of the instantaneous gas density.
