The production method has a particle growth step in which nickel-containing hydroxide particles are grown by neutralizing crystallization in an aqueous solution that is inside a stirring tank. During the particle growth step, the average value for the maximum acceleration of the flow of the aqueous solution at the streamlines thereof is greater than 600 m/s 2 .
