Portable measurement device development for precision stopping tuning of urban railway vehicles

Recently, almost all of railway vehicles have been developed by domestic technology. But domestic companies lack a skill of initial setting for commercial operations, especially, of precision stopping tuning of signal devices which require much time and human labors. Above all, techniques for measuring precision position errors are not well established, and so manual measurements are being conducted for acquiring data. In this paper, we have developed a portable measurement device that can be installed at each station, and acquire data and analyze results automatically. In addition, we have developed a convenient GUI program that can transmit results and save raw data easily. Finally, we have demonstrated the validity of this device at an actual transit line preparing commercial operations soon.
