Aplicação do catalisador KI-MCM-41 na reação de esterificação do óleo de oiticica (licania rigida benth).

2015
Application of the KI-MCM-41 catalyst in the esterification reaction of myrtle oil (Licania rigid benth). The Oiticica is a typical species of riparian forests of true savanna. Its kernel is about 70% fruit and contains 60 to 63% of oil in its chemical composition, has mainly the licanic fatty acids (70 to 80%) and linolenic (10 to 12%). The objective of this study was to analyze the production of biodiesel by hydrolysis and esterification oil fatty acid respectively, with the oxides in order to incorporate catalyst supports in this way is used with different catalysts percentages KI (potassium iodide) as basic catalyst which has higher conversion rates at different percentages impregnated MCM-41. The study analyzed physic-chemical properties of extracted oiticica oil seed green comparing them with the mature seed. It was used as catalyst, the MCM-41 mesoporous materials when impregnated with potassium iodide (KI), the same was observed with some disruption in structure, but the typical peaks of MCM-41 were not destroyed, which would render propitious for the reactions. In order to obtain a more pure material was conducted in oil with hydrolysis time of 3h, with all the results it was observed that it is possible to hydrolyze remove unsaponifiable materials and existing free fatty acids in crude oil, leaving the most suitable material and cleaner for future conversion to biodiesel. later the hydrolysis followed by esterification of the fatty acid in 6h time. With all materials hydrolyzed and esterified characterizations were performed in biodiesel acid value and iodine value in the following materials: crude oil, post-hydrolyzed fatty acid and KI-MCM-41 (2.5%; 7.5%). With the impregnation of MCM-41 KI was not observed that the esterification It occurs satisfactorily and that the chains of the fatty acids increase, ie, dimerization occurs, KI effect depends on the concentration of the catalyst and increases with increasing this.
