Between Bildung and Growth

2012
This work set out to look for connections between continental European BiMngg-theoretical thinking and the educational thinking of American classical pragmatism. As the introduction and many articles in this work demonstrate, scientific discourse and the exchange of ideas between Europeans and Americans were very lively in the late 1800 s and early 1900s. European universities and research centres were popular destinations for visits and research; in particular, many representatives of classical pragmatism studied at European universities.
