Use of acellular dermal matrix allograft to repair oral mucosal defect in 22 cases

PURPOSE:To evaluate the clinical effect of acellular dermal matrix allograft in repairing oral mucosal defect. METHODS:Acellular dermal matrix allograft was used in 22 cases with oral mucosal defect,which were caused by Tumor surgery,trauma,scar,hyperplasia resection and pre-prosthetie surgery.The defects were located in the soft and hard palate,tongue,floor of mouth,buceal region,gingiva,oral vestibule ete.The size nf gratis differed fnom lem×lem to 4cm×6cm.Postoperative follow-up was 1 week to 6 months.RESULTS:Among the 22 cases.2 were Jost to follow up;18/20 allografts succeeded to survive and 2 fell off.Contraction oecured at 2-4 weeks postoperatively,2 months later the prosthesis tended to be stable and no further contraeture was observed.CONCLUSIONS:As a mucosal defect replica,aeellular dermal matrix allograft shows satisfied effect in repairing oral mucosal defects caused by various reasons.Supported by Shanghai Leading Academic Discipline Project (Grant No.Y0203).
