Studies on Flame Retarded HIPS with Low Smoke Generation

Simutaneous incorporation of magnesium hydroxide,zinc borate and DBDPO-Sb 2O 3 or coated phosphorus into HIPS can retard HIRS,decrease the smoke generation by about 40 %.Compared with DBDPO-Sb 2O 3 and coated phosphorus,the addition of poly(phenylene oxide)(PPO) and a kind of organic phosphate improve the retardance,smoke suppression and mechanical properties of HIPS greatly.
