Haematoma of the rectus abdominis muscle. Its aetiology and a review of 10 cases.

Ten cases of rectus abdominis haematoma presenting as acute abdominal emergencies are reviewed. The possible aetiological factors, clinical features, and difficulties in diagnosis are discussed. General lines of treatment are indicated and a plea for greater awareness of the condition is made.
