Method for operation of a ventilation system for use during a major incident at a nuclear facility

2014
Method for operation of a ventilation system (2) for a room trafficable control by the operating personnel in a nuclear installation, especially a command post (4) in a nuclear power plant (6), - a duct inlet air (10) extending from an external input (14) to the control room and to which are connected a first fan (12) and a first adsorption column noble gases (eg 38), - a conduit exhaust air (44) extending from the control room to an external output (72) and to which are connected a second fan (46) and a second adsorption column noble gases (eg 48), and - switching means to exchange the functions of the first and second adsorption columns noble gas (38, 48), the first fan (12) arranged upstream of the first adsorption column noble gas (e.g. 38), viewed in the direction of incoming airflow, and the second vent ilador (46) is arranged downstream of the second adsorption column noble gas (e.g. 48), seen in the flow direction of the exhaust air, in which simultaneously one of the two adsorption columns noble gas (eg 38) is traversed by incoming air and being charged thus radioactive noble gas, and the other adsorption column noble gases (eg 48) is traversed by exhaust air being backwashed this way, and the functions of the two columns of adsorption of noble gases (38, 48) are exchanged when switching it has exhausted the adsorption capacity of the adsorption column noble gas (eg 38) currently loaded, and wherein in the adsorption column noble gas (eg 48) to be backwashed is adjusted a depression and in the adsorption column noble gas (eg 38) to be charged is adjusted overpressure in relation to atmospheric pressure.
