Qualidade de vida de pessoas portadoras de Síndrome de Down, com mais de 40 anos, no Estado de Santa Catarina Quality of life of people with Down Syndrome , ages 40 and up, in Santa Catarina State, Brazil

This study investigated people with Down Syndrome (DS), ages 40 and older, living in Santa Catarina, Brazil. From the 101 subjects identified in this condition 30 subjects (15 men and 15 women) were selected to be interviewed at home, with a relative. A pedometer was used to register the number of steps taken in three days of the week. The mean age for men was 46.8 (s=6,7), and for women, 46.2 (s=3,7). Only one subject was able to read and write. The meam body weight was 61.6kg for men and 64.4kg for women. As for stature, an average of 151.9cm for men and 143.2cm for women was verified. The mean Body Mass Index was 31.3kg/m 2 for
