Effect of xenon on an He/sup 3/ reactor plasma
1979
An experimental and theoretical study has been made of the effect of xenon on the helium plasma produced by the products of the reaction He/sup 3/ (n, p) H/sup 3/. Three probes are used for the plasma diagnostics, two cylindrical and one flat. The plasma parameters are determined as functions of the thermal-neutron flux density, the pressure, and the xenon concentration. The experiments are carried out in the central channel of the active zone of the VVR-K stationary reactor of the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.
