Manufacture of part
1994
PURPOSE: To impart a self-supporting force to a part and dispense with a special support member by applying a new substance to a base member according to a scheduled design and eliminating the effect of a moment by the adhesion when the part is manufactured by a manufacturing method including a continuous extrusion molding process. CONSTITUTION: When a part undergoing a continuous extrusion molding process is manufactured, first a new substance is applied to a base member and the base member is augmented continuously to manufacture at least a portion of the part. Next, a new substance is applied according to a next scheduled design and thereby the effect of a moment is eliminated. For example, an extrusion molding machine 22 controls the position of a nozzle 24 through which a self-adhering substance 26 flows out and thereby, manufactures a three- dimensional prototype part based on CAD data. When a first layer is completed, the nozzle 24 is lifted by the thickness of the layer from a table 28 on which the part is disposed. It is desirably presumed that this layer would be filled with a liquid of a substance with a specified width W. Thus it is possible to continuously augment the overall dimensions of the part 30.
