An innovative approach to find the initial solution of a fuzzy transportation problem

A new ranking function for solving triangular fuzzy transportation problem is proposed in this research work. In addition a new algorithm to find the initial basic feasible solution to fuzzy transportation problem where unit transportation cost, supply and demand are either crisp or fuzzy triangular numbers is introduced. It is observed that the result the new method to solve the fuzzy transportation problem is reliable and practical to implement.
