This module designed to provide instruction on child development contains an introductory section; frames made up of input practice and feedback components; a summary section; and a posttest. The overall objective of this booklet is to teach its users how to identify children below age 3 who have delayed milestones in their development and to refer these children to the doctor or the primary health center (PHC). Specific objectives include enabling the user to: describe the milestones in development from birth to 3 months and identify those children with delayed milestones and refer them to medical care; describe the development milestones from 4-6 months and recognize the factors delaying the realization of milestones and refer them to medical care; describe the development milestones from 7 months to 1 year and identify the factors delaying realization of milestones and refer those children to medical care; and describe the development milestones from 1-3 years and identify the factors delaying the realization of the appropriate milestones and refer them to medical care.
