C60-based molecular and electronic nanostructures

Two new type of molecular/electronic nanostructures are proposed. The formation in water of highly stable fullerene aggregates with size 3.84 nm and a number of molecules C60 N=33 is theoretically predicted and experimentally confirmed. The modelling of the geometric structure and electronic properties of singlewalled fullerene nanotube is carried out. It is shown that the presense of heptagon-heptagon pair as a defect in the structure of this nanotube leds to the formation of the semiconductor-semiconductor heterojunction with the different value of gap.
