The Value of Multidetector Spiral CT in the Diagnosis of Non-metal Foreign Bodies of Trachea and Bronchus in Children

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of Multidetector Spiral CT(MDCT)foreign body of trachea and bronchus in children.Methods 85 cases suspected foreign body were examined with MDCT.The post-processing reconstruction included multiple planar reconstruction(MPR),shaded surface display(SSD), minimum intensity pmjection(MinlP),CTvirtual bmnchoscopy(CTVB).Results The foreign bodies located at trachea in 4case and at branchia in 83 cases.All foreign body were non-metal,most which were various kinds vegetality.All cases were confirmed by fiberoptic bmnchoscopy.The position and form of foreign bodies,and concurrent disease could be showed by MPR,MinIP,SSD,and CTVB.Conclusion MDCT scan with MPR, SSD,MinIP and CTVE can not only shows the anatomical location of the foreign body,but also the shape and size of the foreign body,it has impotant refering value to clinicians to take out the foreign body.
