Passive optical alignment methods

1997
Passive optical alignment is a new optical packaging approach for the purpose of optical fiber attachment in components. It was developed in order to address the high cost associated with the traditional active optical alignment method. The basic difference between the methods is that for the active alignment methods it is necessary to operate the unit during the assembly and packaging process of fiber attach while for the passive alignment method it is not.
