THIS PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF IMPACT TESTS ON VEHICLES FITTED WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF RESTRAINT FOR CHILDREN: SAFETY HARNESS, SEAT. THIS COMPARATIVE STUDY HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT WITH AN ANTHROPOMETRIC DUMMY CORRESPONDING TO A CHILD OF 3 YEARS WITH AN IMPACT VELOCITY OF 50 KM/H WITH A FIXED OBSTACLE. THE SAFETY CRITERIA ARE A FUNCTION OF THE TRAJECTORY OF THE CHILD DURING IMPACT, THE PROBLEM OF LOCALISATION OF THE ZONES OF IMPACT, THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE FORCES ON THE BODY OF THE CHILD, THE VALUE OF THE ACCELERATION AT THE HEAD AND THORAX.
