HUBUNGAN KEPARAHAN DISPEPSIA DENGAN GANGGUAN JIWA PADA PASIEN DISPEPSIA DI PUSKESMAS KOTA SURABAYA

Background There are many obstacles to get a mental health service. It needs a good treatment, because precision of diagnosis and speed of treatment will give a better result. Hoping that it can minimize the risks and increase both the scope and therapy of mental disorders on Public Health Centre which is the first line of health service, we consider that it is important to review about dyspepsia which is correlated with mental disorder on the Public Health Centre, because there are no definitive tests in diagnosing dyspepsia. Diagnosis of dyspepsia results from history taking, specific symptoms and specific tests.Aim To learn the correlation between the severity of dyspepsia with mental disorders on dyspepsia patients in Public Health Centres of  Surabaya.Methods Data was obtained by doing a survey. The PADYQ questionnaire was used to measure the severity of dyspepsia and the MINI questionnaire was used to determine the diagnosis of mental disorders. The analysis methods used in this study were descriptive statistic and inferential statistic.Results and conclusions There were fulfilled 96 samples that met the inclusion criteria. In this study, there were nine kinds of diagnoses of mental disorders comorbid with dyspepsia, which are depressive episode, dysthymia, risk of suicide, agoraphobia, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, general anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and bulimia nervosa. The depression episode was a predominant mental disorder of patients with dyspepsia. There is a tendency of having the higher risk for mental disorders which was indicated by patients with more severe dyspepsia compared to those with milder symptoms of it, but the result of this study show that the severity of dyspepsia is not significantly correlated with mental disorders.
