Fungal "colonisation" is associated with increased mortality in medical intensive care unit patients with liver cirrhosis.

Objectives Patients with liver cirrhosis are at increased risk for fungal infections. However, distinction of fungal colonisation (FC) and invasive mycoses is difficult. Aim of this study was to analyse the impact of FC on mortality of cirrhotic ICU-patients.
