53.4: A Novel Vertically Aligned Reflective‐Color TFT‐LCD with High Contrast Ratio

A reflective-color TFT-LCD with high contrast ratio (80:1) and high reflective (36%) has been developed using a vertical alignmet (VA) mode. Use of both the VA mode and a newly developed photo-maskless for fabricating a diffusing reflector has achieved a high-performance, simple and low-cost reflective display.
