Evidence-informed practices to improve student engagement. Final Report. Prepared for the New South Wales Centre for Education statistics and Evaluation

2017
Evidence-informed practice is an essential feature of effective education systems. Data-informed practices require not only access but capacity on how to collect, prepare and interpret school level and classroom data. In addition to using data effectively, schools need to develop a strong data culture and buy-in. There is a lack of empirical evidence to demonstrate how schools in NSW are using the data they collect from their school community through TTFM to inform school practices, and which school practices seem to be the most effective. Many schools in this study demonstrated that they value evidence-informed practices and some schools have developed a strong data culture, however, many schools are still developing capacity and buy-in.
