Bericht über das dritte Fachgespräch zum biologischen Pflanzenschutz "Kommerzialisierung mikrobiologischer Pflanzenschutzmittel"

Das dritte Fachgesprach zum biologischen Pflanzenschutz fand am 27. und 28. November 2003 im Institut fur biologischen Pflanzenschutz der Biologischen Bundesanstalt fur Land- und Forstwirtschaft (BBA) in Darmstadt statt. Entsprechend dem Thema lag der Schwerpunkt auf der Entwicklung von Mikroorganismen als biologische Pflanzenschutzmittel und den damit verbundenen Problemen bei der Kommerzialisierung, der Zulassung im nationalen Bereich und der EU-Wirkstoffprufung. Vertreter von Behorden (BBA, Bundesamt fur Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit - BVL, Bundesinstitut fur Risikobewertung - BfR) und von Herstellern biologischer Produkte stellten die aktuelle Situation im Forschungsbereich und in der Praxis vor und erlauterten die bei der Zulassungs- und Wirkstoffprufung zu beachtenden Regelungen. In dem folgenden Bericht sind Kurzfassungen der einzelnen Beitrage zusammengestellt und kritische Anmerkungen sowie Vorschlage fur eine Neuorientierung bei der Bewertung mikrobiologischer Pflanzenschutzmittel angefuhrt. According to the topic, the main subject was the development of microorganisms as biocontrol products and related problems with the commercialisation, the registration process within countries and the EU-legislation. The actual situation in research and practice was presented by members of several federal authorities and by companies involved in the commercialisation process of microorganisms. Afterwards, the testing procedure and the necessary demands within the registration process were explained by the authorities and discussed. In the following report, summaries of the various contributions are compiled and critical remarks as well as suggestions for optimisation of the registration process are mentioned.
