Hallucinatory and Delusional States in Connection with Blood Pressure and EEG
1979
Summary
Twenty-two patients who had low blood pressure with hallucinatory and delusional states were examined.
Nineteen cases showed low voltage fast waves in EEG. By treatment with halo-peridol the symptoms as well as the blood pressure and EEG showed improvement.
From the above findings, the hallucinatory and delusional states observed in this study may have a close connection with dysfunction of the lower brain or disharmony of function between the upper and the lower brains.
