Syntheses of Novel Dibenzo[d,f]heteronins Incorporating Group 15 and 16 Heavier Elements

The fully unsaturated dibenzoheteronins are prepared via a 1,8-dilithium intermediate, representing the first examples of fused nine-membered heterocyclic rings, with exception of dibenzothionin (VIa).
