Study of immobilization of functional bacteria for bioremediation of shrimp culture environment

2004
In order to degrade the organic pollution in the bottom of shrimp pond by functional bacteria Lt7511without polluting the pond again, zeolite was used to immobilize the bacteria. In this paper, the factors influencing the immobilization, the absorption characteristics and the storage method of immobilized bacteria were studied. The results showed that most water contained in the zeolite was removed by heating at500℃for two hours and that the size of zeolite, the concentration and the volume of the bacteria suspension influenced the effect of immobilization. As a result of optiˉmization of immobilization procedure,0.46g bacteria(dry weight)were absorbed on1kg zeolite(granule size:60).The immobilized bacteria had a much higher degradation ability than free bacteria, and the survival rate of immobilized bacteria conserved in vacuum is much higher than in air.
