A Vector Similarity MeasureforInterval Type-2FuzzySets

Fuzzylogic isfrequently usedincomputing with words(CWW).When inputwordstoa CWW engine are modeledbyinterval type-2 fuzzysets(IT2FSs), theCWW engine's outputcanalsobeanIT2FS,A,whichneedsto bemappedtoalinguistic label sothatitcanbeunderstood. Because eachlinguistic label isrepresented byanIT2FSBi, there isaneedtocomparethesimilarity ofA andBitofind theBimostsimilar toA.Inthispaper, a vector similarity measure(VSM)isproposed forIT2FSs,whosetwoelements measure thesimilarity inshapeandproximity, respectively. A comparative study showsthattheVSM gives morereasonable results thanallother existing similarity measures forIT2FSs.
