THE IMPACT OF DESERTIFICATION ON THE ATMOSPHERE

Survey of observational data on desert dust storms and physical properties of dust (whit emphasis on results from complex observational programs accomplished in the USSR) has been given. Satellite observations of dust storms and their consequences have been considered in detail. The impact of dust storms on the radiactive regime of the atmosphere and on the enviroment in general has been discussed.
